The Saltron Retro retains the last program setting when it is unplugged, so no you would not need to re-program it every time your unplug and plug it back it.

Do I need to reprogram Saltron Retro?
I just bought your system for my pool it says to unplug when swimming wouldn't I have to re program it every time I unplug and plug in?
